Road Trip

Hi! How's your week going? Mine is getting exhausting yet fulfilling.. Just the painting and tidying left to do. I decided I will put some of the photos I took from our holiday in Buttermere, my favourite part of the Lake District. It's situated in the western part with mountains and hills around it. Living in Cambridgeshire where there's no walls of mountains it's certainly is a delight to visit such a place.
Overhead was Haystacks.. There's something about those hills as if they were calling me.. I didn't know it's where Wainwright's ashes were scattered. If I had known  sooner..
Ahhh the hills are alive..

This is the Red Pike ridge.. breathtaking but certainly a challenge with its rugged terrain and uphill climb.

Crummock Water which took us 5 hours to walk all around on the third day.
This place is memorable to me. This is just situated at the foot of Red Pike about 1900 ft. Hubby and I were already a quarter away from the summit when we decided to call it a day.. It's a shame but that's one good reason to come back and tackle this seemingly tame beast. We headed towards the left path but lost the track.. I was really worried whether we could make it down but thank heavens we did.
And this was the scene that welcomed us.. just beautiful..
