natural rambling

Hi there! How are your days going? There has been a lingering thought bugging me these days and I think it's best to bring it out since it has to do with Yssi. Since I learnt that his TFS contract is to be renewed (whether there is truth to this or not but let's say there is ) I have been taunted by questions and perhaps fear. The entire concept of Natural Story didn't really grab me.. simple white shirt- check, open location on top of a mountain- check, bamboo back drop- check and perhaps the highlight of this which made me screaming was hearing him sing. I think that was the real winner in this campaign. Then there was bed of roses I meant garden of roses and a magic trick which I completely missed. The message was clear beauty, adorable and free but the photos were dreamy and less punchy considering the amount of effort and time the team spent on that shoot. I believe YJ had to fly Down Under for that right?? And as what my next door Bae sis had mentioned; the number of flowers, gifts, suitcases, and the new addition a ring he had handled in each endorsement is getting on a bit .

Before you send me stormy comments let me just say I am expressing this because I have much concerns for him and would like to see a new TFS campaign with YJ showing us that women aren't the only ones who could put a healthy glow on their skins, learn how a young fresh face is maintained, a theme which shows his passion for the outdoors and would inspire us to do the same-live life in a fun a natural way and please put an advert which would show men out there that masculinity is also a reflection of a healthy skin and body. Whether they listen or not at least it would make them stop and think.

One more thing -less doesn't always mean more but allure and virility can be well and truly projected in a very natural way.

weekend glory

Today the British Summer Time has arrived and we gained an hour. I actually find this weird as I've never known any other country who does this sort of thing. I still get confused but apparently this has been observed  since 1916 through William Willett. He first suggested it in 1907  through a pamphlet called ' The Waste of Daylight.' He thought people slept a lot and wasted Summer mornings so it's best to put the clock forward by an hour and a  lot of things could be accomplished in the afternoons. (summer time we get longer days). It moves back an hour as the Summer Time ends.  Contrary to my belief there are other countries who still move their clocks backwards and forwards such as New Zealand, part of Australia, North of America and most of Canada, European Union countries and some African countries. Whether this still holds true till now in all countries I mentioned, I'm not entirely sure.
The good thing of waking up early to check the clock on the TV box was the chance to watch the Grand Prix which airing time I forgot about. It was a glorious moment for McLaren's Jenson Button and a rather dismal finish to Lewis Hamilton. I would have thought he did a great job on the first part of the race until the engineers brought him in to change tyres but unfortunately the other teams didn't follow suit. It would have been a tidy 1-2 finish but strategy failed him. He ended up in sixth place. For the race highlights please click here.
However the man of the day was Jenson whose rather lovely girlfriend stood by to cheer him up. I admire his affection towards her as he finished the race. I truly wish them both well. Such a lovely couple. My Bae sis from Japan must have heard of her as she's one popular model. Her name is Jessica Michibata..

Love this photo of them together..reminds me of hubby  and me less the fame & status of course  :-)

Over the rainbow

Hi gals!! This afternoon when I decided to finalise the two modules which was really, really long overdue I got distracted by a certain phenomenon. All of a sudden a rainbow appeared before me- not just once but twice on separate occasions.

Like a kid who's about to get some treats I rushed around to get my camera. Unfortunately I haven't got a panoramic lens so I didn't get the whole thing in one frame. What's amazing was I saw both ends of the rainbow. We're talking about 10 houses beneath it. I haven't seen such thing before plus the intensity of the colours were so strong as if they were vibrating like some sort of a force field but with colours. Anyhow I was delighted to see it so here are some of the images I managed to save.

It's unfortunate that there were wirings in the way..not had the chance to remove them (takes a lot of time) :-(
Have a colourful weekend ahead :-)

Welcome Spring

Spring has finally arrived. It's surprisingly mild today and the air is just refreshing. I took the chance to take some photos of spring flowering plants and I was slightly disappointed as they were massively affected by the harsh winter. The Daffodils were struggling this time while the Snowdrops seem underdeveloped but still it's good to see them in most gardens. Better late than never.

pick n mix

Hi! I hope you had a nice weekend. I had spent mine with the family, attended a local function, realized I couldn't handle any more than three glasses of  Malibu and still found some strength for running the next day then decided to finally redecorate the living room. Phew!! Overall it has been a productive couple of  days.
On the Bae front they were some photos of YJ spotted somewhere, sometime ago. I personally would not know what to expect if I see him in person.. However when I saw the photos it reminded me of that photo of him in the book when he was eating in a street corner wearing the same outfit.

and one more thing.. big thanks to Suehan for finding this picture of the WLS Anime.

Have a good week ahead.

Croyland Abbey

Hello!
Everytime hubby and I go to see his parents, we always passed this town called Crowland. The name of the place hasn't got to do with crows but what's interesting about it is an abbey built in there long time ago. Alex always pointed the ruins to me and would explained it was closed down by Henry VIII which left not much interest in the beginning. Then one trip back to his parents I got reminded of the ruins again. This time the sky was blue and Spring was certainly in the air. On days like these I always take my camera with me just in case something nice come along. So through request I asked him to take me to the ruins which is now called the Croyland Abbey. This name refers to the building and not the monastery. It used to be the most opulent of all East Anglian abbey and I could understand why. When I first saw the extent of the ruins and what was left of it I was just amazed by its splendid architecture and robust charm.

The north aisle still serve as the town's parish church.

quick post

A quick post before I go.. I can't ignore this pretty pics of WLS Anime set.. could imagine YJ walking down this aisle. And the familiar house in background.I've always admire that house.

and a piano.. wonder what music was played. Thanks Style/BYJ Gallery.

early bird talking

Hi! You must have read this translation of Suehan about YJ and Ryu Seung Soo's tale on laziness. I couldn't help but smile while pondering on YJ's words. Only because it sort of hit home. It's not that I like my bed so much but I'm just one of those who once awake would remain awake. Let's say more of a lark than an owl. One of my friends have the same problem with Ryu, her sleeping pattern is erratic so she sleeps early hours of the day but I could only advice her to do this and that to help her sleep and unlike Ryu she has to go to work so still she has to be up in time. It's quite easy to tell people what they could do but if there are underlying issues such as depression, alcohol problems, health problems, etc. one must manage the root of the problem first.

YJ said 'If you wake up a little bit early, then you might have lots of work to do.' This is actually true. Recently I have been running whenever I'm off so it start the day for me. I like the fresh air and stillness of the street in our neighborhood. It also get me ready to face the day ahead. And for someone like me who has to get busy at all times a planner has to be handy in order to sort things out  plus it shows what I have accomplished in the end.

He also said “You have to make your own work by yourself. In my case, no one would be complaining to me if I go to bed and wake up late when I don’t have any schedule. However, I create work to do and try to spend my day prolifically. If you go on the internet and go to bed, then you just waste your life in vain and kill the days." Internet is quite addictive and unfortunately you missed out a lot if you have spent most of your time surfing. It's the same with many things really such as watching TV. It's better be out walking or exploring the world around you than sit and watch TV. That's just me anyway. In other words do something productive each day.

The last thing in this excerpt is YJ's attention to details . How many times have we said I like that film or that actor was really good? We get attracted to certain films for various reasons. Let's say Winter Sonata. Up to now it's one of my favorites. I asked in particular what I like about it. It's the selfless love and the fact that once you have given your heart away that's it. It reminds me of my favourite film Sweet Home Alabama. That moment when she decided to remarry and said 'The truth is I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart, and I never really got it back.' is really sweet.

Which made me think, has this been our case in Baeland? I don't see why not..

a little note

Hello!
These past few days have been  difficult for YJ and his Bae family. Many were left shocked and still coming to terms with what had happened. I could imagine it being an unforgettable experience for those directly affected. I hope time will heal the pain fast  and with YJ's strength and support, spirits would be uplifted. May the coming of Spring brings joy and peace to us all.

Meeting YJ- Translated

There were some accounts of yesterday's incident during the WLS Anime live filming which have started to come out. As what I've gathered it was intense and unforgettable.. The shock of everyone must have eased up a little and we now hope that those involved will soon recover . As I read through some translations I find Suehan's a good read hence I'm reposting it here. Hope you have a lovely day.

Our actor, Bae Yong Joon bought lunch for us.
To our baeto members who have been waiting for the story desperately.
I saw our Jooni.

Two buses which were filled with many Korean families, luckily more than I expected, headed to Jeongdongjin.

First, we were touched when Keyeast’s staff informed us that they would pay all the expenses for us and donate the fees which we paid to attend this event.

After we arrived in Jeongdongjin, Jooni bought a seafood tofu soup for us at the restaurant. At the entrance of the Sun Cruise hotel, I saw the body guards controlling all other cars.

When we entered the hotel in two rows, the bodyguard who was holding the radio said, “Korean VIP families are entering now!”. We’re touched again!!

We went to the sky lounge on the 8th floor and were very excited when we saw many Japanese families taking pictures at the spot where there was a good view. We expected to take pictures the same way and half-fainted when we saw Jooni through a telescope.

It was really fantastic when we saw him arranging his hair with an umbrella because the wind blew a little. A strong wind blew all the facilities away and even the sky lounge was shaking.

Choi Ji Woo stayed away from it during the filming at the other place. The wind changed to a strong level like a Hurricane, and the facilities were blown away and hit the people in a second. I couldn’t even scream. Sob. Sob..

We were so sad and worried, and more sad when we think of Joonie who would worry a lot. We were restless when we thought whether we should leave now or not.

Staff told us to go downstairs. We all went down and sat for a while. And then I was so happy when Mr. Shin appeared. Because Jooni will show up when Mr. Shin appears.

Yes. Joonie came.

He was wearing a hooded black leather jacket and black skinny jean.

He was coming in front of me.

It was strange to me. Why? Because he wasn’t the same person we saw in the picture.

His face is small, and his eyes, nose, and mouth was big and clear. He was so pretty. He looks way younger and more handsome in person than a picture.

I can’t remember what kind of questions I asked to him.

He looks slim.

How is your health?

Yes. I’m good. (smile)” He saw my eyes. I didn’t know that he has big eyes.

He is in his late 30s, but his eyes were big and clear compare to his age.

“How are the injured fans?”

One fan was really hurt, and the others got bruises.”

“Reporters came?”

“News already came out saying, 27 got injuries.”

“Which station is it?”

I don’t know

“How are the others?”

Toru nim tapped me.. So, Okay, I better stop here.

I’m going to visit the hospital.”

Toru said, “I should have gotten hurt.”

The others said too, “I should have gotten hurt.”

Joonie said, “I should have gotten hurt.”

We all shout, “No!!”

President Bae should have gotten hurt.

We all laughed.

And then, silence..

Ah, Choi Ji Woo showed up too.

Both of them spoke to each other’s ear.

Joonie said, “They said that I came alone.”, and then, Choi Ji Woo tapped on him.

Both of them were in black like a couple look and they made a good picture.

In my own opinion, they make a good couple.

Silence for a while.

Why aren’t they asking questions or are they so distracted by his face?

Ah.. TodakTodak nim said,

We thought that this might be the last event for us.”

No.”.. smile..”It won’t.”

ah it's the wedding..

So the wedding part of the WLS Anime was filmed live...(sigh) I thought the ending or was it? I got excited when some fans shared their experience. According to Suehan's blog YJ was wearing black tux, white shirt and bow tie while Ms. Ji Woo was wearing a white wedding dress. It looks like it went very well.
As far as my memory takes me there was only one wedding in WLS..right????? that was between Junsang and Yujin in a chapel. Unless this wedding they were filming was a different one like they finally end up together which I thought would be a good ending for WLS. I personally couldn't wait to see the whole event. As for now here are the pics of the gathering from the film site.

Stopping by

Hello everyone!!! How have you been?? I didn't realize the length of time I have gone offline from my blog. All of sudden my plate became full and I started wondering if I have asked for it. Driving has not come across my head and I regret why I left it too long but I am actually enjoying learning .Getting on with work, course, club, thinking of decorating the living room while supporting hubby for his work in the garden, running every morning, keeping the house together and catching up with friends are stuffs which I think taking a lot of my time recently so if I don't get the chance to come here often I hope you don't mind. I haven't forgotten. Everytime I check on other sis blogs I also hope that I'd find a bit of news about YJssi. Looking forward to more updates. :-)

All the Reds

Hi! World Cup is fast approaching. I am not into football so much as I'd rather watch the Grand Prix, Cricket, or Wimbledon if given the choice. But there's one exception- the World Cup. Although I would be cheering for team England I will keep an eye out for other countries close to me and one of them of course is Korea. I visited the Cup's website for some infos on the timetables and line up so click here if you want to know. To watch about Korea's qualifying highlights just click here and for the England team here.
Below are pics of Yjssi for the All The Reds campaign.

The End of a Winter's day

Hi! It's been sunny and lovely in East Anglia. Just about time to prepare the garden for summer. I have been contemplating on getting more border and flowering plants to brighten it up. Despite the fact that it's still cold the temperature have gone up slightly for Spring plants to come out.

With this change in the weather I have noticed some lovely sunsets appearing once in a while which to me is always something to keep an out. Recently this gave me the opportunity to explore my camera. I nearly gave up on my DSLR as I thought I was desperate for an upgrade and started using the compact camera hubby got me. Most of my disappointments was due to the fact that I haven't got much knowledge on how to use it. When you have a camera such that ,it could actually  be daunting as it required some time and patience to explore the advance program. Others may find it easy but not in my case.

But something happened that turn my view 180 degrees. First when I got back the result of my first module my tutor thought the shots I took from the compact camera was too noisy..don't ask me.. This remains a mystery but I thought the camera wasn't as good as I hope it to be plus my lack of experience. Then one day hubby came home with a Photoplus magazine. I have a slight reservation with this sort of magazine because of the cost and me being a reluctant learner. So hubby thought instead of buying something for himself he'd get this for me. After I read through I realized that the mag was catered for Canon users and most of the unresolved issues I had with my first camera were solved. Eureka!!! I thought. I asked myself why I didn't seek more help and did research? So I'm back using the DSLR again and been experimenting on overriding the cameras metering system and changing exposures. Below are sample photos of sunsets I took as we near the end of Winter.
