One of the highlights of Summertime in England is an air display. This weekend our town hosted the 10th 1940's celebration. It's an interesting show of anything about that era from fashion, food, trade, music, and also remembrance of the war.
I met up with another club member from the photography group in one of the open fields just outside the camp where the event was hosted. He brought his 400mm Sigma lens so I could have a go with it. The only setback was my right arm hurt from carrying the enormous lens the day after.
Here are some of the photos I took.
I waited for the iconic Lancaster Bomber to fly pass but got the times wrong. I'm just so pleased that it finally appeared. Have a nice week ahead.

Dear sister, HYDS,
These photos are super! I just adore airplanes!
I wanted you to know I have put a new posting on my Bae Fan site. Please know that none of the comments there are directed toward you, except for the 'thank you' for your unstinting friendship and love. I know you are extremely busy, my sister, with your job and being an expectant mother, and I do understand if you don't reply to everyone of my comments. You have been so amazing to me, a total stranger, and I think of you as one of MY angels. I just wanted to prepare you before you read my posting, and hope it won't upset you too much. I remember your saying how you respected my opinions. Well that blog posting is just more of those bold opinions. I know you will be tolerant. You always have been, and I thank you for that too. Take care, dear.
Love,
Anna
Good pictures! Must be hard to take pictures when the object is "in action"and moving.
The first picture above feels like it could be a poster for a movie about WWII.
Something about the sky behind the planes; a story about the war; heros and pilots; and maybe a story of love. Oh ... well, my imagination also have wings ... :-)
Ida
Dear Anna,
Yea, you definitely got me ready there. Thanks for your kindness and thoughtfulness. You are entirely entitled to your own opinion. I am just sad that you have felt that way. Please remember that you are well thought of and appreciated so I hope you could bear with us your Baesis and our individual differences. We do accept each other including toppings and flavourings. Anyhow I hope you are feeling better as I don't like hearing you upset. Please look after yourself.
Love lots,
Hyds
Dear Ida,
I'm glad you also loke the photos. Yes I must it's a challenge photographing planes. If ever I get to own those long range lenses I have to remember to use a tripod as ached afterwards. It's worth it though. Thanks a lot for stopping by.
Love,
hyds
