Memory

Requiem of a blogger

'One time, one meeeting' My adapted motto.. I'd like to thank the opportunity to write in this blog and although it has been a part of me I will give it a time to rest for now.. I don't know whether I will be able to surface again but I think it's best to leave it this way. I feel sad but I believe that there are more people out there who could write and do better things than me. Thank you to those who have journeyed with me. .

sidetracked

We are supposed to be going fishing today probably in an hour or two but while getting things sorted I was held up watching the Haptic Mission since last night.. I enjoyed watching this one and it's great there was an English sub in all episodes.
Watching it gave me an idea what Kim Hyun Joong is like as a player or a member of a team. He's smart, confident, enjoys fun before work, a daredevil at times and have a very strong conviction. His wits are beyond me and very feisty too in an adorable way.
To watch the final episode please click here.

Focus on the Elle Boy

I like Elle Magazine and although I have seen these pictures a couple of days ago I haven't looked at them properly. It's Kim Hyun Joong who's featured in Elle for the July edition. It's nice to know that this lad is known or acknowledged by major magazines. I have a feeling that he's the next big thing. If you want to read about the interview please click here and here.

Photobucket

In a pensive mood. This one shows a deep thinker. The myterious part of KHJ. His eyes speaks of a story and the photo makes you wonder what he's thinking.

Photobucket

This one is pretty cool. He's more relax and open to exciting adventures.

Photobucket

And this one is a dreamy picture. Like one of his characters and alter ego. He is there but not quite reachable and almost distant. He could really posed and be comfortable in front of the lens. Effortless and very professional with exuding charm and appeal. Agree???

oddss and sodds

Hi everyone! I am absolutely knackered and probably dehydrated too. It's too hot at work and it's getting more and more unbearable. Considering it's only 23 centigrade outside.
I am absolutely shattered. Another long day tomorrow. I'll see if I shed another kilo..more likely.
Honestly I don't know whether to look for info's about Kim Hyun Joong or BYJ but other than that I don't think I have the energy to do it.

Anyway I haven't seen this one so thought I'd share it here and don't ask whether I understood what he said..just look at him ..ok??

And this is the DVD cover of the Winter Sonata Anime. Reminds me of Christmas. It must be the lights

A walk in the park

It has been lovely this week so Alex and I went for a stroll in the park. If you noticed trees have grown so well since we last visited it last Autumn.
Photobucket

The lake is still there but no flood water anymore while the grasses have come alive like neighbors whispering at each other.

The reeds are growing tall and the weeds have borne seeds.

While sitting in one of the wooden benches a friendly dog approached us. He didn't give me the chance to get my camera ready as he just came for a quick fuss.

I like visiting places like this. It clears my mine out, I could spend time with my husband, it's quiet, peaceful and refreshing.
When I saw a tree there I couldn't help but ran to it and climbed. I must be a monkey in my previous life as I love climbing since I was a kid. The classic trees were guava, mango and santol. I tried climbing a coconut tree but didn't make it to the top so I left it to the boys.
When I was upset I climbed the highest branch and just stared at the world around me.
When I saw this tree, it just brought back some lovely memories. The picture on my profile was taken when I was on a bridge wall in the park. I was there last fall and back again. ;-) I call it Hyd's Great Wall.

penny for your thoughts

It has been a lovely day today. The strength of summer was evident and everything arrived at once. The news on BYJ's launching of the Beauty of Korea and WLS including bits and pieces about SS501 are great.

byj

I was thinking about it. The ticket would have been equivalent to £56.00 and the flights would cost around £550.00. Mhhh it would be a lovely present for my birthday this year. Tsk, tsk, tsk, Paris or Tokyo???? :-( :-( :-( It's a shame I can't have both.

Although it's still few months away at least we are looking forward to something big. The Beauty of Korea is also very precious to me. It's a labor of love and like I said before his enduring love for the family and his country. It would have been a wonderful experience to be there with him to hand a support. How I wish..
Video from Sanocyan3 and photo from Kaorin. Many Thanks

BYJ Tokyo Events

BYJ will finally launch the Beauty of Korea book and the Winter Sonata Anime on the 29th and 30th of September this year at the Tokyo Dome.

These are great news..I just hope the event would be a big success. Thanks Xiaoyi for the updates. ;-)

SS501 Solo Collection Ep 1

The first episode is already out. I have been waiting for this till midnight and must say watching the video gives me goosebumps. It's a bit dark, no really it is. KHJ looked so mature and he could well fit in action films.. he's just sensational. Thanks to Shirbogurl and iBreatheLifeMusic

on a look out

Hello there!
I hope all is fine on this Monday morning. I had been catching up on watching clips of you know who and had enjoyed them thoroughly. Some of them I linked here in the video list. I don't know but I find that learning about him is such an enjoyable thing to do. I couldn't help laughing while watching. It must be crazy being amused in this sense.

On the other hand my arm still ache after getting a travel jab today for our future Eastern trip. What amazes me is we have to get this done when in fact other people who live in the area where we are going don't bother about them at all. Better be safe than sorry I think. Another thing is the malaria medication which I have to take whilst on holiday. They insist that my immunity has gone down and I'm prone to getting it when I go back. The last time I had it there was a continuous episodes of sickness and further upset stomach. It's not nice but I have to be a good girl and listen to what I was told, eh.

I am still waiting for this new video of SS501. It's fascinating how many sites talk about them. I just got lost so I better take a rest and leave it to the experts. What do you think? I think so.

Deja Vu

It must be great to see them perform live...thanks for this video.

And I like this short clip about him. It's an interesting insight to this guy's personality. Cool.

starstruck

Big style.. I have been trying to learn more about this very cute guy and found a lovely slideshow by Elizabeth07. Very adorable. Truly refreshes one after a long day. Thanks.

You know what I noticed in this past few days.. The more you look at him the more you get startstruck. I tell you what it is - the killer smile. Look at BYJ it's the smile apart from the perfect face that made many head over heels inlove with him. It's the same with Kim Hyung Joon. That very warm smile that definitely heats up one's cold heart. Just look at him and you'll see.

Silverstone adieu..

It's the British Grand Prix this weekend but this sporting world has at the moment hit a huge controversy. Will there be a different Grand Prix in 2010? Sunday's race will be the last in Silverstone but if there will be another British Grand Prix after all it's yet to be decided. Let's watch this preview of the current race.

Away with the fairies

I suppose that's how it feels after watching Boys Over or Before Flowers eh! I can't get over it. All day viewing, another half day viewing and one late night, I haven't done this since re watching WLS. In some ways it reminds me of Filipino dramas although I would say K Dramas are not as long winded. To give you an idea Fil Drama's character may die several times and for some reason, thanks to the writer's unimaginable idea it will come to life again and far more twist than ever is expected. Although BOF is a Korean adaptation of a Japanese Manga Hana Yori Dango it didn't disappoint me at all. (correct me there if it's not)
It's sweet, cute and obviously delivered for the young and young at hearts. Part of it I didn't know where it had led to nor what's going to happen but I remembered laughing several times.
Overall it's a feel good series and meant for those who believes in a Cinderella story.
In my heart I have wished it was Ji Hoo but love would have been different if one couldn't let go the one he/she loves.
Thanks for Lovenlight3 for these MVs. Such a pleasure.

After looking at him intently, I was so much reminded of BYJ. His smiles, the way he looked, even the way he acted and composed himself. This character seem to be played by BYJ before. It's strange.. is he the One??? I hope so...

gone fishing..

Not literally! I haven't swap sides either. I was speaking to my mum and sister few days ago and was amazed how BOF have become a big thing for them also. Personally I haven't got the chance to watch it and perhaps I'm the only blogger left who didn't see it. You think perhaps I haven't got a clue what I'm missing. It's Ok my next door friend Myoce is providing us with a much deeper study of the group therefore I could read it anytime I want. ;-)
I like boys who could dance. Truly. It brings back memories of my teens when a boy group in High School did their really good share of talents and girls went gaga watching them... sigh those were the days..
I must say I like this MV and I think it's my favorite of all so far. Pardon me being late.

And this guy..yes he is cute and he has the same charm as BYJ. He looks very promising and there is something in him that shines. You can't pinpoint it. Not again!

While watching one of the Mvs for his birthday I noticed KHJ wearing a Raikkonen T shirt..Good choice of an F1 driver. I wonder if he watch F1 too.. If you want to know about Raikkonen, just click here.

On being a Baefan

Baeland has been waiting in anticipation for BYJ's 'Beauty of Korea' book which I believe took most of his time, energy and tested his endurance physically and emotionally although I felt this has been a very long wait . He has worked so hard for this book and went on great lengths to capture the true spirit of his country. This is his gift to all the family who supported him and a favor to his country.

YJ is not getting any younger and soon would be another birthday. He had put aside personal agenda to focus on new challenges and took on board new responsibilities. Acting perhaps is no longer top of his list but he has used his fame and influence to make a difference in this world.
He had set good examples and maintained a low profile yet down to earth persona. Yes, the clock is ticking but that doesn't seem to bother him. He has a lot of things going to keep him occupied. We all would like to see him happy with a woman who looks after him and live a normal life like everybody does but he must have found joy and fulfilment in what he's doing at the moment that this doesn't seem to be a major concern.

I have known more about YJ not long ago and I met friends, learned a different culture and developed a new passion through this. They were the greatest gift he had given me. I haven't met him personally but through fellow sisters I get a strong connection with him. I may not be seeing him all the time in the big screen which makes it difficult and frustrating but that doesn't mean I have felt less for this man. It is difficult to be a Baefan I agree but I don't see myself not supporting BYJ. I don't think it's just going to happen.

You probably think I'm convincing myself of the stability on being a Baefan but no. Actually while writing this I have felt better and understood the true meaning on why this blog exist and why I have tried hard to pursue a new interest. BYJ have made a difference in my life and for me that's a treasure worth fighting for.

tapas afternoon

It's been a beautiful weekend so we took the opportunity to use the garden. We put the pergola up and cooked a lovely dinner. I fancied tapas like what they have in Spain. So we had some tiger ciabatta, olives and balsamic vinegar with olive oil. A sunny afternoon won't be complete with grilled meats such as burger stake, sausages, and Chinese chicken with cheese baps and salad. We also had some cheese we bought from France. I thought vodka and coke are better than white wine this time. I hope you also had a lovely weekend.

In the wild

As I continued with the walk I saw some poppies growing in the fields. Everytime I see them I get reminded of the war. They still grew wild in the battlefields of Belgium during World War I. Surrounded by death and destruction the poppy seeds were covered by the overturned soil. They forever serve as a reminder of the bloodshed during that and the future wars.

Tiny but Pretty

The clouds today were exceedingly attractive and the sky was so blue.
After walking the dog I took myself to a good walk around the back fields and enjoyed the light breeze and lovely sunshine.
While taking pictures on the way some of the locals had to stop for a short chat as they were fascinated with what I was doing. I learned from two ladies the name of the weed with tiny yellow flowers I was photographing and it's called Buttercups.

Apparently when they were young their mother used to place the flower near the neck and if there was a reflex action on the petal it meant that the person likes butter. I thought that was a cute tale.
Some of the flowering plants I saw are also shown here. The flowers were very small but pretty. The women also mentioned about making daisy chains when they were young and bursted into giggles when they thought of giving away their age. I said I was doing the same thing when I was a kid so it's the same thing wherever you are in the world.

KC Who?

For some of my friends they probably knew about this beautiful Filipina who's the equivalent of any royal princess. She's KC Conception-which stands for Maria Kristina Cassandra Conception. I don't know why I really admire this young lady. Her mum is the country's box office queen. After being protected from the public eye all these years she has emerged into a beautiful and talented actress. Educated in Paris and now had a debut in the Philippine screen and worth millions of Peso for every commercial endorsement- she's one sought after celebrity.
Do you believe in 6 degrees of separation? I do. My friend who just moved to Australia was her former teacher in the International School in the Philippines. Mind you this friend of mine whose husband is Imelda Marcos godchild and his family used to own Makati Medical Hospital is a living proof that this sort of separation does exist.
Back to KC- she's the new big thing in the Philippines. She's pretty, talented like her mum and she's the most promising actress I have ever known in the Philippine cinema. All the best for her.
If BYJ was the endorser of Sony Cybershot, so was this lovely girl.

one for the soul

KEEP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF

There may be days
when you get up in the morning
and things aren't the way
you had hoped they would be.
That's when you have to
tell yourself that things will get better.

There are times when people
disappoint you and let you down,
but those are the times
when you must remind yourself
to trust your own judgments and opinions,
and to keep your life focused on believing in yourself
and all that you are capable of.

There will be challenges to face
and changes to make in your life,
and it is up to you to accept them.
Constantly keep yourself headed
in the right directions for you.

It may not be easy at times,
but in those times of struggle
you will find a stronger sense of who you are,
and you will also see yourself
developing into the person
you have always wanted to be.

Life is a journey through time,
filled with many choices;
each of us will experience life
in our own special way.

So when the days come that are filled
with frustration and unexpected responsibilities,
remember to believe in yourself
and all you want your life to be,
because the challenges and changes
will only help you to find the dreams
that you know are meant to come true for you.

pretty in pink

Hello again! Today we got hold of another bamboo for our garden and next door neighbor decided to remove theirs which was a very bad irony. We have been buying bamboos from Ebay and they chopped theirs..sob sob sob. Alex went around to them to see if they had some cuttings or the roots were still there. Unfortunately, it's gone but we got hold of some cuttings which were left at the back. So I'm hoping these will survive, if not at least we've got an idea what the garden will look like with full grown bamboos around ;-)

Anyway, you might have noticed the change in my profile picture. It's the photo of the Hydrangea I bought a couple of weeks ago and this one is pink. I will get hold of some more in the future as I find them very pretty. ;-)

blue sky above

Hello! When you travel a long journey you noticed things around you. In my case sitting at the back of the car is either a lonesome affair or a jolly ride accompanied by motion sickness .

However after taking a dose of remedies I turn my attention to the beautiful sky above me. I could count the times I looked at the sky and admire how blue, dark or gloomy it is.
These are the images I gathered recently which I think have their own stories to tell too.

This scarf..

One Baesis in KOB showed us a similar scarf YJ used while studying lacquer painting in Morioka and it was an Alexander McQueen scarf. I've never been so interested with these designer labels but if it's YJ wearing them they mean a lot. However the cost of getting hold of them is also an expense so I'll just keep admiring them, what do you think? ahhh!

Anyway I found this place to get it and I guess it's not difficult to find because of its name. Here is also a picture of Sienna Miller wearing the scarf. Unisex I suppose.

But to to be honest looking at YJ's photo above, I am more interested with what he's making. It looks really pretty. I wonder what's the story behind the curve line and the strong color blue and black.. Black for mystery, uncertainty, lost or just a pencil line and strong blue for a bright future, hope and strong conviction or calm and serenity? What about the red line between the two? A strong emotion, love, and burning passion?BYJ's feelings? Your guess is as good as mine. I couldn't wait to see the final product. And as for the scarf, it's class. ;-)

May Pictures of the Month

Another month has gone and we were all greeted with photos of food prepared and cooked by our members. For the month of May I chose the following pictures as the top three.
Third place goes to Milena's Bulgarian Yoghurt. My attention was suddenly captivated with simple yet very creamy looking photo of a yoghurt. Ready to be enjoyed on a warm summer day.

Second place is Angge's version of Bibimbap. I haven't tried cooking Korean food but this photo certainly makes me want to try. She also took time in setting the scene and included details before shooting.

The First place and May's Picture of the Month is Joyce L.'s selection of Indian food. If you look intently you are drawn to the simplicity of eating food. We admire expensive utensils, great ambiance and the sophistication of fine dining but in this photo the food is placed on a banana leaf. It speaks culture, ways and reminds us of tradition that in other parts of the world, food could be served and enjoyed in a simple way. Below is the video of all the entries.

a day in Calais

Hello! Just came back after a day in Calais.. I am a bit exhausted but had a great time. Although this small town is relatively small and mainly used as a port between two countries it's nice to see the rural France which is very serene and perhaps opposite to the hustle and bustle of Paris. You probably thought I went to Paris but that's in a few months time. Today was just a spur of the moment thing to blow some cobwebs away.
Calais and the Port of Dover are connected by the Euro tunnel. You must have heard of the underwater tunnel between these two countries which I think is a very scary thought but excellent breakthrough.

At last I saw the White Cliffs of Dover. If you saw the film Atonement it was shown in the last part of the film and I just fell in love with them.

I must say the highlight of the day was the meal. We had plenty of time for each course and the waitresses were not rushing about. I ordered 12 snails with garlic sauce and trust me that was an interesting experience. The rump steak with pepper sauce was just perfect. After being on this diet and not eating loads of red meat, a steak is just a treat. And what's best to end the meal but with a selection of cheeses and creme brulee. I haven't sorted most of the pictures yet since I brought two cameras however I love the beach in Calais. There are no noise, it's serene, and free from Fayre's almost like the one in WLS. You could rest and contemplate.
