Christmas is fast approaching and this year hubby and I will host the Christmas dinner. It's ok, we are organize or trying to be ( I hope so) . Since it's my first time I feel that I really have to get things planned and scheduled since I will be working days before hand. I have come up with a menu which include a starter, main course which would be the turkey and trimmings of course including vegetables, dessert, biscuits and cheeses, tea and coffee. Phew!! Did I miss anything? Oh yes the
wine!
Anyway folks, I was buying this and that and forgot that I will be serving white meat! Most of the wine I gathered were for red meats..! Not only that salmon which will be the starter has to be paired up with I don't know.. Perhaps a white Burgundy? Most sites mentioned the German wine. Though some could be sweet I thought the Riesling was a bit strong. I don't particularly want that in the start of the meal. So luckily I found some Chardonnay and Cru Burgundy.

Then I thought what about the turkey??Oh, white meat should have to be white wine. Great!! I haven't got many whites. Apparently, it goes well with reds as well. Oh good! But which one? Shiraz and Merlot are said to be compatible. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are also good . I thought that's ok since there are many of those I could get. From new world to old world wines.

I am not worried about the dessert and the cheeses. Although for the cheese if I get the soft ones I need to have a light red like Chinon or Sauvignon Blanc handy.
Oh well, I should think my Saint Emilions and Bordeaux would have a lucky escape this time. I hope so as they are my favorites.. Now, did I say I'm going to cook? Oh dear, perhaps I should start at six in the morning.
