
In Britain , the night of November 5th is always celebrated. They call it Guy Fawkes Night. This is to remember the man who tried to blow the Parliament but failed to do so.
During this night people gather in parks or places organized by the town council to witness fireworks and bonfires. While I'm writing this now I could here my neighbor's fireworks going off which means that I have to keep my dog inside away from my conservatory otherwise the poor little thing will have an hour or two of deafening experiences.
This traditions reminds me more of Christmas or the New Year in the Philippines in a conservative way.
Let's see if this tradition is affected by the credit crunch. I doubt it...
