Beautiful Men

Did I mention you would find some mix write ups in my blog? Well this would be the first time I would write about Rob Pattinson. Since my epiphany as an Rpatz fan two weeks ago, yup! just two weeks although I said I noticed him in Harry Potter Goblet of Fire already, I couldn't help seeing the similarities between Rob and BYJ and what catapulted them to the public eye.
Twilight in my opinion is the equivalent of Winter Sonata in present times. The thought of first love, unselfish and pure which would defy all odds captured the hearts of many. Both actors are equally handsome, charming, painfully critical about their portrayals and professional in every way. Despite the age difference and circumstances as Rob has just started flourishing his acting career which he thought would have been a history before auditioning for Twilight and BYJ accomplishing the status and power many actors have wished in their fields, you can't help but admire the fate that has come to this two. They are cheered and chased wherever they go. Their private life have been jeopardised because of their success and freedom has become an elusive dream which we could account as the darker side of the industry. Above all both have evolved as good actors with humble beginnings. To me they appear like each on one side of a coin.
I also have high hopes on Rob. GQ have hailed him as the Marlon Brando of his generation, a versatile actor, weird, insane at times but undeniably the sexiest man too. As a BYJ avid I think both are sexy in their own ways.

DATV Screencaps

When I saw these photos in Soompi I was faced with a dilemma to whether share these moments captured by DATV. I was not only moved but also wholeheartedly felt for BYJ. This man is not your ordinary celebrity/actor. His charm, conviction and will power is unique which gave him a distinct mark in the industry. We read articles about the events in Tokyo but the images of the family across the world who came to join and the warm hospitality he received was a resounding proof that this man is one of a kind. Someone who makes a difference and one who would give his all.
I have carefully chosen the photos shared by Kaorin but I think each have spoken more than a thousand words. Get well soon YJssi. Photos lifted from byjfan/posted by Kaorin. Many thanks.

Back in Korea

I came back home today after a very long and tiring day.. Hubby still hasn't recovered fully and work is still hard work. (Sigh) I can't complain really.
I hope my hubby get better soon and so would BYJ to rest even more, now that he's back in Korea. Thanks to Moichan for posting the JOB notice in KOB. I tried to look at the KOB notice board but couldn't find any. Cheers !

Hello dear family,
As some of you already know, BYJ returned to Korea today. We could finish smoothly the two-day events at Tokyo Dome, press conferences and other official schedules.

We are very thankful for your continuous support, love and cheers. But due to his visit while not in fully recovery ,he couldn't help canceling schedules left and returning to Korea. We are very sorry to make you and the parties involved worry much.

Yet, considering his recovery first and meeting with you in a good shape from now on, his schedules have changed. We think your continual love will give him strength for full recovery.Taking a good rest in Korea, he and his staffs will make every effort to recover as soon as possible, even one day earlier.Your support and encouragement are most appreciated.

re-Anime Event Impressions

I have been meaning to post Gosijo's recollection of the launching of Winter Sonata Anime. The description was so real that you could almost feel that you were there. Words were carefully chosen to encapsulate the atmosphere on that very important gathering. I was that moved that I'd like you to understand what I meant. Please read through again .

This was originally posted in KOB and Quilt.

It's been a long time since I posted on Quilt and KOB but I thought I might share some of my impressions on yesterday's Winter Sonata Anime event at Tokyo Dome.
I think you have already seen some reports and pictures from last night's event. We were truly blessed that the organizers conceived the brilliant device of the balloons as a way for BYJ and CJW to greet their fans as closely as such massive events can allow.

When wuri YJ passed by our section, we saw him notice the Hong Kong (HK) sign and give us a very appreciative expression. His eyes brushed over the Red Maple Leaf flags that a few Canadians in the group were waving with all our hearts. I'm pretty sure he noticed even though he was still busy reacting to the HK presence.
Later, when CJW passed for a second time - they each did 2 passes, the second one higher than the first one to greet those sitting in the top level - she blew a kiss in our direction and I blew one back to her, ha ha!

I have to say I'm very happy the co-stars were so warm with each other. I think you read that they hugged on stage. To me it seemed to be a so-glad-to-see-you-again-after-all-this-time kind of hug, as they might have hugged when they started the voice-over work. Also a we-have-a-warm-friendship kind of hug or a brother-sister hug.

Later, when they were walking onstage side-by-side, CJW was on really high heels. When she came to the sloped sections (first down then, after a flat section, up again) of the causeway between the first stage at the back of the venue and the main stage in the middle, she had trouble and he offered his hand, in fact held it really tightly and everyone could feel his strength and dependability. He did the same when they headed backstage, only giving her support on the sloped sections. For the final portion of the event, when they came onstage again, they walked hand-in-hand the whole time so, that time, we felt their ease at being together. Perhaps it helps that CJW is currently in a relationship so their public display of closeness will (or should) not be construed as something that it isn't.
But getting back to the balloon passes, the first one especially when he looked our way, I felt a very strong emotional rush. Now I understand!! And I can see how at Kyocera Dome last year, when the moving stage stayed on the ground level, many family did not get a chance for this closer connection.
I had no expectations going into the event beyond seeing him small as an action figure on stage and larger than life on the jumbo trons, and hearing his voice, but clearly I came out with those modest expectations exceeded 100 fold! Ah, did you know that when you sit in a wooden seat in a large arena like that, the sound reverberates through your seat? Yes! I felt his beautiful voice enter my heart through that route too, felt like a warm hug enveloping me from behind, ha ha!!

Last but not least, over the past few days, meeting so many sisters from all over, feeling the warm welcome of our hosts in Japan, benefiting from the extraordinary organizing skills of our BYJFriendsForever leaders, having a chance to exchange one-on-one with a few sisters, meeting in person for the first time after many online encounters, even re-connecting with one dear sister fills my heart to the brim with happiness.

When my husband said goodbye to me at the airport, his final words were 'Have a wonderful time!' Well, Yobo, I am!!

Gosijo from Toronto, Canada

The final part is so heartwarming. If we hadn't been back from holiday five days before the event I could have gone to Tokyo as well. Hubby promised if there's another event next time we go back to that part of the world, he would happily let me join in. Well I take his words on that. ;-) Many thanks Gosijo!!

BYJ Interview Translated

Before I proceed any further, I'd like to express my concern for those who have been victims of the earthquake in Indonesia and the tsunami. All the same, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
This is re post of the interview of BYJ by the press at Tokyo Dome. It gives us a brief idea about his current life. Many thanks to Cam.

The celebration for the release of top Hallyu star BYJ's new book was held at Tokyo Dome on the afternoon of the 30th. BYJ welcomed the Korean media backstage where he chatted away during the interview about his literary debut and gave his recent updates.

Q: Before the event you were honored by a meeting with the Japanese prime minister's wife, may we ask what did you talk about?

We talked about the cultural exchange between South Korea and Japan. I was startled by her proficiency in Korean.

Photobucket

Q: You are no longer just an actor. You are now even playing the role as a cultural missionary. The publication of your travelogue in relation to Korean culture, was it also done to cater for public expectations?

I simply put earlier ideas into action. I mentioned about my desire to become a farmer at the commemoration event that was held in Seoul. It was not said only in the spirit of the moment. I have been sharing the very same idea with many around me. I am the kind that once I put my mind to it, I often ponder the same thought, until it turns into reality.

Q: The response to your book release is pretty good, should we anticipate a sequel?

(smile), I can assure you there will not be a sequel. After I return to Seoul, I need to think carefully and plan my future work properly. In fact, my body has not completely recovered. I am still on medication. My face will puff up if fatigue sets in even just a little. My main focus is to recover fully at the moment.
(Good on you YJssi!! You should try to ease on work an dlook after yourself. I'm glad you are doing what you ought to do.)

Q: You are taking the lead in Hallyu. What is the secret of maintaining such popularity?

I trust honest sincerity to touch the hearts of my fans. However, I hope the word Hallyu will no longer be used. It should be replaced with exchange. Isn't it better? Once the news is reported by the Korean media, the related report will also be broadcasted in Japan and other Asian countries. It is time to create an Asian wave, but to make such a change is not easy.

Photobucket

Q: You already have wealth and fame. One may even say you have everything. What is lacking and absent in your life at the moment?

What I need most now is a wife (smiles). What is lacking is my freedom. It is not automatic that if you have it all, then you will definitely be happy. I often have regrets and feel something is missing. These things make life worth living and happier. Therefore I have been practicing to give up on certain things and to discard other things.
(Wow!!! That statement is so poignant. After all he's only human and a man himself. It must be difficult to be in the limelight and have to consider thoughtfully your private life. I have always wish that he'd follow his heart. If he find that special woman he should go for it which I'm sure he will.)

Q: May we ask when would you get married?

One year and 3 months ago, I told the Japanese reporters within 3 years. But my Grandma heard it wrong as 3 months. After 3 months she said, Why aren't you married? (smile). According to that promise, it should be next year, but I don't get the opportunity to date. I am currently making a great effort to find time for that opportunity.
(Mmmhhh do I smell something here?? I'm getting goosebumps. Don't get the opportunity, eh? Perhaps you should Mister! I know that woman will come but you also have to seek for her.. Seriously at the moment-recovery = healthy body and mind and more energy to go out and celebrate life.)
