BYJ AB Diary

The AB Diary has come out and dearest Suehan wrote a translation.. Thank you very much!
BYJ's handwritten diary, "My Journey Diary" from the Arnaldo Bassini 2009 spring catalogue.

Prologue

New Challenge in 5 years

It was a new challenge against me once again.

It was the same feeling just like before..
Staff members are always close to me
and work hard continuously to help me with a tight schedule.
Because these good people are near me,
I'll be able to get energy to face the challenge
Here, I want to show my gratitude to all personnel
relating to the filming and staff.

The filming cooperation:
Guam Visitors Bureau Sheraton Laguna Resort in Guam, Mode Tour Network.
The Day Before
I got the schedule before the departure

I wonder if I can have some free time this time.

I check the itinerary one by one methodically and think of people

I'll meet during this trip.
Stylish Travel
I have a belief, Act grandly, but be humble.
How will I look in this trip?
Every trip has its own style, like my appearance.
After the Meeting
My private time after the meeting.
I don't know when, but I started to have interest in taking pictures.
There is a style only I can express in the square frame
even though it's same image and scenery.
Taking pictures is attractive.
With Coffee
Tasty smell from the freshly-baked bread and coffee which is wrapping my body softly.
A comfortable morning makes me expect to have comfortable day.
Today, I'm going to go on a trip alone with a map and car.
Happy Journey
A balmy breeze and soft sunshine..It looks like that morning and journey are similar. It always gives me a new feeling as usual.
Day Off
Comfortable itinerary at unfamiliar place.
It's a place where I can slowly ask myself questions.
Sometimes, such simple comforts make me smile.

Snow, anyone?

This is what they say. BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!! I woke up with a phone call from Alex who was doing a night shift. He asked me to look outside and oh my God! Everything is covered with snow and it is still snowing. It's about 5" already. When I looked in the front everything is covered. I couldn't see the road! No cars because it's dangerous. Now Alex managed to come home after an hour journey driving 15 miles an hour..phew! that was a relief. Obviously not used to this kind of weather..Bring out the booties.
My favorite images of the day..These were taken in our neighborhood.

Are u SAD?

Hey there! We are nearing the end of winter but I'm surprise there are some who are still affected by the seasonal affective disorder (SAD). If you ask me, I don't feel much affected by it. Perhaps because I have many things in my head that I probably didn't have the time to think about the weather and its silent effects.
I read through the symptoms from this site called Lumie. Here are they.

How does SAD affect people?
Symptoms tend to start from around September each year lasting until April, but are at their worst in the darkest months. Symptoms include:

Sleep problems - oversleeping but not refreshed, cannot get out of bed, needing a nap in the afternoon
Overeating - carbohydrate craving leading to weight gain
Depression, despair, misery, guilt, anxiety - normal tasks become frustratingly difficult
Family / social problems - avoiding company, irritability, loss of libido, loss of feeling
Lethargy - too tired to cope, everything an effort
Physical symptoms - often joint pain or stomach problems, lowered resistance to infection
Behavioural problems - especially in young people
How to combat this? It obviously said about seeing your GP or stay in a well lit room all the time if you can. Personally the thing that best help would be constantly doing something. A good work out may help, walking and certainly do any tasks that will stimulate both the brain and the body. It will obviously need a lot of drive and will power to do it but one just have to try..
Now these I scraped from the Telegraph.

HOW TO BEAT THE WINTER BLUES
Seize time outside in the daylight whenever you can.
Do some exercise. Any kind of physical activity will lift your mood.
Eat fresh fruit and vegetables. Sluggish winter bodies seem to crave carbohydrates, but too many comfort puddings will drag your mood down even more.
Don't bottle up your feelings. A good moan about the weather is part of being British.
Have your holiday photos digitally enhanced. It's a long shot, but if the grey skies look blue, it might make your memories brighter.

The Face Shop CF Making

Dear Tomato99byj posted this one. It's great to see the making. The windmill reminds me of the one we've got in town..mmhhhh I'm also hoping we could get hold of the goods sometime ;-)

I remember seeing this for the first time. I was so excited and with few words in English it broke the silence and built bridges..

BYJ's Leica

The new pictures of BYJ for Arnaldo Bassini has come out..Yep! a mix of summery colors. I believe the market is for men of all ages looking at the style.

Anyway, what would best capture Hydee's eyes??? yes the camera. Of course, BYJ loves his gadgets and this time I assume although I shouldn't, that the camera he's sporting was a Leica.

I read the reviews of this camera and it sounded impressive. It's a 2002 M series. Must be a lot lighter than Canon EOS. I must admit mine is getting a bit heavy at times. It's manual focus, in other words a bit conservative. But shutter is automatically controlled. It has an aperture priority autoexposures feature. Now since I am new to digital photography, let's define some terms.
1. aperture- controls the amount of light that reaches a digital camera sensor. An aperture acts much like the pupil of an eye that opens wider as light decreases to let in more available light. The pupil gets smaller when light increases to reduce the amount of light entering the eye.The combination of aperture and shutter speed are related, and effect the exposure value. The faster the shutter speed, the larger the opening of the lens and visa versa. (digicam help)
2. exposure-the total amount of light received by a photosensitive surface or an area of such a surface, expressed as the product of the degree of illumination and the period of illumination. The image resulting from the effects of light rays on a photosensitive surface. (dictionary.com)
So combine those two, you will get the picture..

Since I just acquired my first oldish camera a Regula Picca C. It's one of those you don't use a battery therefore you have to manually turn this little lever to shoot. I haven't tried if it still works but will get a roll of film for the sheer sake of it. I know, at first I thought he was sporting this one because of the red trademark but then again BYJ with a box standard German made? nahhh!

let it snow, let it...

Our day off today and we were crazy enough to go out while it was snowing. Why not? We don't get snow as often as we should ;-) So the girls wrapped up and we went in town to take pictures. After all, two of these friends of mine are moving to Australia this month and the other next month. sob, sob, sob. I'll terribly miss them but looking at the brighter side of it, I will have enough reason to visit Down Under..

These are some of the images of the day..
Steps at the back of the church..

Students coming out of school. They were dismissed because of severe weather warning.

Ducks over a frozen pond .tsk, tsk,tsk...surprised how they managed to tolerate the cold.

Plants in our back garden..

Miss u already!

And my dog who seem to think he could catch the snow and eat it.. very cute isn't he?

supernatural drama series

Hello there! It's been snowing here in England. At last! But as much as I like it, it's cold, wet and roads are slippery. Yikes! Couldn't help sniffling here and there once we were inside the house.
What have I got here today? Have you heard about the drama series 'Supernatural'?? The new season has been aired here in Britain and obviously we are so loving it. I am not the person for zombies or vampires sort of things but if it's the fight between good and evil, you can count me in ;-).
This drama is about two brothers who hunt demons. What I like about it are the relationship of the two siblings plus the effects and plot are so gripping. It's not too cutey, cutey or predictable either. Although each episodes are intertwined it gives the true air of suspense and thrill. WARNING! This one isn't for the fainthearted. OK? But I love it!
