YJ's Wine Journey

Hello! How's our week so far? Mine is a bit slow at the moment considering I'm off these couple of days. The weather hasn't been helping at all as it's been raining in the Fens these past few days. Lovely!

One headline this morning in Baeland is about YJssi writing a book on  wine. This means visiting wineries of  his favorite wines and informing us more about them. I must admit I got disappointed when the 'Drops of Gods' project was dropped. My wine epiphany sprang out of the moment YJ was rumored to be in the series. However my only wish at this time is he will not only introduce us to the wines which are literally made for the elite but also will write about wines which combine quality with good value.

Hallyu star Bae Yong Joon’s version, ‘Drops of God’ will be published early next year.
Bae Yong Joon has been known as a wine lover and will visit world-famous wineries like ‘Romanee Conti’ to meet famous wine makers, and will publish a wine travel book. He will describe various stories relating to the wine.

Bae Yong Joon already has been well known as a wine expert in the wine industry, no less than a wine critic. It became a topic due to the fact that Bae Yong Joon’s image was used as the main character, Tomino Itse appearing as a wine critic in ‘Drops of God’ which has sold 4,400,000 copies in Korea and Japan..

The Wine industry is already excited about the news that ‘Bae Yong Joon’s wine travel’ will be published. Because wines, wine specified shops, wine bars, etc that Bae Yong Joon introduces in his book will be popular and become famous places for the Japanese tourists. There is an analysis that the weak wine industry due to the economic recession will become active.

CEO Kim studied architecture at Pratt Institute which is a world famous art school in New York and he set up a gallery at Ilsan Spinning company building with the art works that he collected since the 1970’s. At the Ilsan Spinning company building in Yeouido, the art works of contemporary artists like Jean-Philippe-Arthur Dubuffet, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Donald Judd, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andrew Warhola were displayed. It also includes the great artwork, ‘Ilshin Yeouido 91’, of the famous Italian sculptor Mauro Staccioli.

The new company building in Hannam-dong, which recently opened, is called ‘an art building’ because the art work of contemporary artists are displayed and it has a music hall which is used for chamber music concerts. The seats of the music hall were made with fine quality and each seat is worth about two hundred million won. They were designed by a famous artist. In the middle, LED curtain wall shines luminously and draws the attention of the people who pass by. CEO Kim also planned this building.
CEO Kim Young Ho and Bae Yong Joon, who is known as a Hallyu star, developed a relationship several years ago and have exchanged opinions on all cultural areas. Recently, CEO Kim reviewed the planning of the Wine Travel when he was with Bae Yong Joon, and arranged meetings with the world-famous wine makers in Chile, Romanee Conti winery, and Napa Valley, USA. Bae Yong Joon plans to travel with the sommelier, Lee Joon Hyuk of Shindong Wine, in November starting with USA.

[News Trans] Bae Yong Joon is considering buying his first house.

Bae Yong Joon is considering buying his first house which is drawing attention because he has only leased houses until this time. He leased a house in the Golden Villa in Samseong-dong, Seoul for the last four years, and recently has been searching for the right house to move into. On the 13th, his agent said, “He is thinking of moving within this year and is looking for an apartment or villa nearby. He is choosing his house with painstaking care because it just may be his first house.”

It is very unusual that he doesn’t own any houses due to the fact that he once paid almost ten billion won in taxes alone and he is also the major shareholder of Keyeast. His company’s revenue for the first quarter in 2010 was over 8.1 billion won. Most entertainers either buy their houses or invest their money in the real estate market for investment purposes when they start making money. His agent responded to that, “It seems that he is more interested in business management than the real estate market.” I asked him if the purchase of this home would lead to a future spouse. He responded waving his hand, “What are you talking about? I’m very sorry that he doesn’t have a girlfriend.”

Presently, both his house and office is located in Samseong-dong and is less than ten minutes walking distance. He plans to move secretly in order to protect his privacy even though it looks as if he is going to prepare his home in the Gangnam area near his office.

On the other hand, Bae Yong Joon didn’t decide his next project since the TWSSG of MBC. His agent said, “He will be appearing as a cameo role in the new drama, “Dream High” which is produced by Keyeast, JYP Entertainment, and CJ Media together. It will air next year in January. He is reviewing his comeback work in various ways from a movie to a drama.”

Hi!! I just fnished (just about) one of my modules which was all about Custom White Balance..For some enthusiasts this would sound familiar. It took me a while to get around it but I'm actually enjoying using CWB in most of my shots. So here are some of the outputs.

I took this shot by photographing a grey card then set it as cwb setting. The result was much whiter petals and less colour cast. 

Above was taken using a daylight setting. If you notice there are shades of yellow on the tips of the petals and in shadow areas compared to the one on the top.

The last one was just a product of HDR using just two exposures.. forgot to work out bracketing in my camera..tsk.

Bae Yong Joon (38) has an exclusive model contract with the Italian casual brand, ‘Arnaldo Bassini;, and we, with super speed, exclusively acquired the advertising pictures of him for the fall and released the unseen photos in Japan.

It was filmed at the studio in Boondang near Seoul around the end of July, Yonsama arrived around 9:00 am and stayed in front of the camera until a little after 4:00 pm. Around 60 Families came from Japan to support him. “He waved at us when he was going up to the 2nd floor and also coming down from the 2nd floor. It looked like he got a tan in Hawaii.” (a fan).

He had his 38th birthday on the 29th of last month. It seems like he will be busy through the fall and winter. First, he needs to get ready for the production of the drama, ‘Dream High’ which will be aired next year in January. There is information that he will appear in this drama and plans to attend the charity program which will be held at the Tokyo Dome on December 14th.

It appears that the heat will continue in fall. We can feel the fresh fall breeze from the cool Yonsama.

Choi Seong, the mayor of the city of Goyang, signed MOU to support the production of the Hallyu drama ‘Dream High’ in which BYJ and PJY will be appearing.

First step to become a Hallyu cultural city, Goyang.

On September 2, 2010, Choi Seong, the mayor of the city of Goyang signed MOU with Kim Pil Ryo (chairman of Goyang city council), Jeong Wook and Yang Geun Ywan (CEOs of the Hollim, the production company of the drama ‘Dream High’), and Lee Gwan Hoon (CEO of CJ Media) to vitalize the imagery tourism of Goyang at the video conference room in the City Hall. It is the first step for the Hallyu cultural city of Goyang.

The major contents of the MOU are to attract tourists through the imagery tourism, employment creation including making appearances in minor roles, attracting the industry relating the unification of broadcasting, video, and communication, improving the value of the city, and cooperation to vitalize the local economics. International Hallyu stars including Bae Yong Joon and Park Jin Young will be appearing in ‘Dream High’.

To achieve the goal of the imagery tourism, the city of Goyang and production company decided to cooperate for the introduction of the city of Goyang through various methods like operating the Familiarization Tour of the potential areas for the tourist attraction including the lakeside park, Lafesta, Western Dome Street, Latin America Cultural Center, and the Haeju Fortress and using the discovered areas for the shootings sites when the broadcasting of the drama starts.

At the signing ceremony, Choi Seong, the mayor of Goyang, said, “Signing MOU with the production company for the mutual cooperation to support the production of the KBS drama ‘Dream High’ in which Hally Star Bae Yong Joon and the best music producer and singer of Korea, Park Jin Young, appear will be a turning point to make the city of Goyang an international tourism city or Hallyu cultural city.”, and he showed his expectations on the developments to become Hallyu Cultural City, Goyang from the visits of Japanese and Chinese tourists by saying, “If this project is successful, we expect lots of revenues including additional incomes, but it will also make the city of Goyang become a popular Hallyu cultural city.”
