Hi there! How was the weekend? Are you excited as well for the live coverage of Winter Sonata Anime? I bet you are. April 26 can't come fast enough. ohh I'm truly looking forward to it. I wonder if the ending would be the same.

I'd like to hear a longer conversation between the two lovers though because they hardly said a word in the first and of course it can't end without a kiss..we would be sitting on the edge of our seats.. lots of time to prepare. ;-)
Thanks to tomato99 for providing us a translation of the forthcoming event.

DATV Pics

Hi there! I hope your weekend was relaxing and productive. I kept seeing photos of YJssi everywhere showing some of his adventures during the making of his book. I can't resist not posting it here as my blog has become a vast space dominantly occupied with non BYJ topics. Definitely in need of  fresh updates..

Haiti Telethon

I think the anticipated event this week  was the Hope for Haiti Telethon. Apparently they raised around $ 20 million which isn't so bad at all. Hope more help would get to places soon.

Take That

It's Saturday and not a lot going on. Done with the food shopping for the week  while hubby is busy sorting out one of the rooms in the house, I kept myself entertained by watching Take That's last years's concert at Wembley in London on TV. As far as I could remember the group didn't play any instrument when they debuted in the 90's but certainly their come back showed the strength of such musical maturity. In this tour Gary Barlow took hold of the piano, Mark Owen on bass, Howard Donald on drums while Jason Orange played the guitar.
What is so striking about the show apart from the group's pop craftmanship was the grandeur circus theme.  I like the appearances of clowns, balloons, the metal elephant which walked them to the main circus stage. The show came to frenzy as the song Shine was sung and trapeze artists, jugglers, ringmasters graced the stage.

I was truly pleased to see the band together again. It's great to know that the group I earnestly followed in my teens have come back this big. This time they are more mature yet light hearted, funny with heart warming songs.

Below are some of the clips from the show and my favorites. Enjoy.

After Dark

Hi there! How have you been? For some reason these last two days resting seem like a weekend to me. As much as I want to I couldn't do a lot these days however there are things that I have to get going. I just realized that the first module I have to submit for my course is quite overdue. And still I have three more photos to find.
So packed with the equipment I had asked my personal driver (a.k.a hubby) to drive me from one town to another. Learning this trade certainly requires patience, endurance, and stamina. Well the last I'm still working on.
I am not very good with technicalities but I truly have to get a grip on how the camera works and get the most of it. To be honest working with different shutter speed to get various effects on the photo is yet a work in progress on my part. But I'm starting to get used to it, I guess.
After finding the right place to photograph, we stayed for an hour to get enough shots.
These are some of the images of the bridge in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. The slowest speed my camera allowed me was 8 seconds which gave the effect in the last photo.

2010 Korean Tour Video

I find this 2010 PR film of the Korean Tour Organization enchanting. The dark scene, fog covering the forest and the green canopy gave it a mysterious effect. The message is clear-discover the beauty of Korea and magical experience awaits you. With YJ's smile the journey begins.

Cheers Suehan & Xiaoyi.

Sidetracked

I hope in this hard times you are well and safe. I am actually saddened watching the catastrophe that hit Haiti. It's shocking to see people in the streets waiting for help and those who have lost their loved ones and future.
Here in Britain, groups of fire fighters have been dispatched already and Oxfam have started sending aides. If you have an organization near you trying to gather some help please do take part. I pray for these people and the entire country to recover in this very difficult time.

By the way folks, something occurred to me which I couldn't disclose to you yet. I will let you know in time. For such reason I feel that my attention and energy have been diverted towards it like a magnet. I hope you would bear with me if I couldn't update all the time. I am starting to think that I am actually taking on so much this New Year. I know I'm not alone in this sense as I have to learn to shuffle a full time work, hubby and house, studying photography (which is heading towards the bottom of the queue), the club I just got myself into and the one important thing plus other things. Phew! I'm sure someone has a longer list than that but I seem to feel overwhelmed at the moment. I definitely need an organizer this time or daily planner. I'll be working on it.

I must be in need of a break already where I could sit down, comtemplate and get inspired. I know I have all the reason to be inspired at the moment but I think it will take time for things to sink in.
I wish to write about Turner or go on a trip to the west of Scotland  where the lowland meets the highland but that's me dreaming again. As for now I hope you are getting on alright. I wanted to post more photos of YJssi not only a shot of his behind but I guess the waiting still goes on. More drama I hope in the horizon and healthy 2010. Cherio!

out and about

Hi there!
I hope you are unwinding as the weekend draws to an end. I have been trying to be proactive today despite the cold and miserable outlook outside. I asked hubby to drive me around the area to take industrial photographs. Where we live most of the industries have got to do with farming and processing of farm goods.
Since it's winter not many workers are out to do some work so I had to look for alternatives. Battling the unyielding weather I tried my luck. The lack of light source is a problem for  an amateur like me. According to some sources the ways to tackle this problem is decreasing the shutter speed of your camera and make sure you change the aperture. In this way you allow enough light to get in. You also need a tripod to avoid blur and camera shakes. Unfortunately today the clouds weren't there to give a dramatic effect at least so we had to pack up and head home.

New Lotte Hotel in Japan

BYJ is looking busy in the business field. A new restaurant to be opened in the new Lotte Hotel. Good start for 2010. I wish YJ will consider expanding in London. That would be  a treat. Many thanks to cloud nine.

Lotte Hotel advances to Japan with “Koala’s March”

Lotte Co. announced on Jan. 5th that they will open Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho in Sumida Ward, Tokyo on April 6th. Their group company runs a luxury hotel in Seoul, however, this will be their first move to hotel business in Japan. Emphasizing its uniqueness by setting up guest rooms with the character of their main product in confectionery: Koala’s March they aim to invite tourists and businessmen.

another journey

Hi! I am not particularly sure how to begin this post. Thinking about it made me realize that things start from somewhere from nowhere or the unknown. How many of us really know what's coming? Even if we do, circumstances change and we can only react depending on the situation. I would admit that I am still starting to learn about a lot of things. New experiences are yet to come and growing, well depending on how you define it, is still a work in progress on my part.

What I'm trying to decipher in this post is how prepared are we of the unknown. That something  has heppened to you and you haven't any precedent or a slight clue how to handle it. Would a person's instinct be your guide to survival or you leave it to the force stronger than yours to help you get through the experience?

Surely life is beautiful and full of surprises. You really never know what there is until you have it. Never in my wildest dreams I have thought of being where I am today and trying to gather my thoughts for others. They said things happen for a reason and my true reason has just arrived. In this journey I wouldn't know what the expectation would be.

When I saw BYJ again I didn't know what to do but little did I know that it was only the beginning. A time when I would meet people, embark on new adventures and get driven to do something. It's funny how it all turned out to be. And though it seems that we are stuck in a cold snap there are only two things we could do- remain cold, bitter towards the situation or accept with warm hearts what nature is capable of then we'll find true solace in what seems to be a never ending winter.

As for the unknown, it can stay wherever it is. As long as we remain true to our hearts nothing could extinguished the flame that kept us together all these years. Seasons come and go to make way for a new life- a new journey.

Out of the Blue

Hello!
How are you feeling? I hope you are  well and lively. Me? mmhhh not quite as alive as I should be. Really, it's been snowing here again and I'm actually dreading the next  couple of days. Our central heating is struggling to keep up with these conditions although it's nothing to worry at the moment.

The only thing I don't like in winter is the short days. You could count the days when the sun is up. Most of the time it's cloudy. You would think it's bedtime soon. While writing this I feel like I could fall over and sleep..cups of coffees don't seem to work with me these days.. I should move on to water and plenty of it.

It's not only us who's affected by this harsh winter. Seoul and America has been badly hit too. Is it the end of the world? Maybe not I hope. I am not complaining about the amount of snow we get as it's nothing compared to other countries.(I hope I haven't spoken too soon.)

So what else to do at this time? Keep warm, drink hot chocolate, exercise if you're up for it, endure and well sleep if you have time or you can always sit by the fire and read your book. Take it slow and be one with nature. It's the time to plan, watch and put things to rest. I better start.. Cherio!

Drops No More

Hello there!
Perhaps you have heard of the big news that the production of The Drops of God featuring BYJ has been cancelled. According to reports  using various wine labels in the manga would violate the advertising law of South Korea so Keyeast decided not pursue the project.

Many of us would be left disappointed as we have been waiting for this but let's hope for the best.

A Sweet Exit

Hi! It's the New Year a new beginning but I'd like to make a space here for my favorite TV program. It will probably reach your country and if it does give it a chance and watch it. I am not a big Scifi fan but Doctor Who is one exception.
I have never cried this much for a while and certainly not in the first day of the year but  David Tennant's exit was just painful to watch. He's one of Britain's favorite Doctor  but everything has an end. :-( I certainly enjoyed watching all of the series and all I could say now is thank you Doctor.

Happy New Year! This is Yang Geun Hwan.

Year 2010, a new year with family has started.
Dear family, happy new year!! (sae-hae-bok, mani-ba-du-se-yo!)
It is already fourth year to give my greetings through this blog.
Looking back last year, personally, I was able to create a good family
and with the birth of my adorable daughter, I had a most meaningful year.

What can I say to everyone at this blog this year, I am excited and nervous as I am writing this.

Last year, Bae Yong Joon-ssi appeared to you in new styles, he had worked as writer for “Beauty of Korea (Discovering the Beauty of Korea),” and did dubbing for Animation “Winter Sonata.”

There are high expectations what kind of style he will show this year.
To make this year a year to respond to family’s love, and to grant to everyone’s wishes,

Bae Yong Joon-ssi and myself will do our best in year 2010.

I wish every family will have all their wishes come true and have a happy year.
And, please be well and have pleasant time.

Kamsa Hamnida.

Sincerely,

Yang Geun Hwan

That's kind of him. Rest assured we will all be waiting patiently. Many thanks tomato99.

A New Day

Hi! We are finally in 2010. I don't know about you but today actually feels fresh and new. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. Although the bitterly winds prevailed it didn't hinder us to go out for our first walk this year.
Recently I have been drawn to the natural world. I hope this year I could explore more places in Britain and share them to you. I am also considering of doing a long walk following one of the trails of Alfred Wainright. There are so many beautiful places in this country which I'm truly looking forward to visit.
In the Bae front I wish out man would continuously provide us with exciting projects to watch and enjoy although we all have wished him a healthy and successful 2010.
I hope your first day of 2010 was just as good and promising.
